Postby weedsgalore on Sun Jan 31, 2010 9:19 pm

Okay, not very original: How about a nice card with a vintage style?? This can be anything, from a stamp, online clipart, old photos of your granny, etc. So get going and let me see what you can do!! thanks, sue (will make mine today!).

Sue!! That is exactly the way I feel today. Been snowed in for two days with no chocolate. Just called DH and told him if he wanted in the house he better stop and get some on his way home from work!

I love vintage, but have never been successful with "making" vintage. Will have to give this some thought.

Thanks for hosting this week.

thanks kids!! Actually that artwork, is from a WWII poster that was entitled "We Can Do it"!! from the efforts of women taking over the fighting men's jobs in wartime factories..as welders, riveters, etc. My own mom, whom i just talked to (88 yrs. old). Was actually doing riveting work in a local factory, (they made airplanes Isn't that cool???)while dad was away in WW II!!! She said it was hard work, but all the housewives were pitching in for the war effort...so this is quite personal! I will be sending this to her...i am sure she will get a kick out of it!! There is your little history lesson for today! lol...sue

I may actually join this challenge for a change. I don't usually do vintage, but I do have a fabulous piece from Kristi's heart swap that would work. ;) :D

My mom was a riveter, too. She was very small, so could get into areas that others couldn't. She worked in the shipyards, though. I'll have to think about this one. Doing vintage is definately "out-of-the-box" for me. LOL! ~Bev~

Well, I must say although I love the look of vintage, it is not my forte" either, but I will do my best to give it a try. Thanks for hosting this week Sue!

I am new to the Paper Crafts message board but I have posted on the Ck message board in the past. It has been quite a while though. Your challenge was just what I needed to get to make ananniversary card I need. I love vintage. This was made from a copyright free vintage image. I colored part of it in photoshop and did the rest of the card with stamps. Thanks for the inspirational challenge! (Hope I do this right.)
