Tuesday Turkey Trivia

Postby lillyscrapper on Tue Nov 03, 2009 1:49 pm

Say that three times fast! Hope Judy can google today. I think she should have an extra day off to recover from recovering. Just my opinion, mind you.

1. Thanksgiving is celebrated only in the United States?
a. True
b. False

2. What was the name of the ship the pilgrims came over on?

3.Who was the captain of this ship?

4. It is believed that how many pilgrim women survived to celebrate the first Thanksgiving in 1621?
a. 5
b. 15
c. 25

(And you can bet every single one of them was cooking while the boy pilgrims played pin the tail on the turkey, or whatever it was they amused themselves with way back then.)

Well I know #1 is false because they celebrate it in Canada. I will have to Google the others if someone doesn't beat me to it. I think #2 is a trick question. I think the ship they started on was NOT the Mayflower. I remember something about that in my Googling yesterday.

Well, I'm up early! Just couldn't sleep, so here goes!

1. False Thanksgiving is also celebrated in Canada.
2. The ship was the Mayflower
3. The captain was Christopher Jones
4. Five women survived to celebrate the first Thanksgiving, and you're right! They did the cooking! Of course, at that time period I don't think the men ever cooked when there were women to do it! LOL!

Fun questions! ~Bev~
