Are we all ready for Tulsa CKC???

Postby llyvona on Tue Aug 17, 2010 8:39 pm

I am ready and excited! (Im)patiently counting down the days! I live in Muskogee which is only about a 40 minute drive from Tulsa but I am staying at the hotel this year because it will be so much easier than driving back and forth since I am staying for the late crop both nights and have early classes both days. I hope all you have a safe trip and a lot of fun and come away with lots of new and interesting ideas that keeps you all busy and happy for a long time to come! I look forward to meeting you all there!

I have been looking forward to this convention all year. It's my one BIG expense of the year and I've been saving. I'll be driving from the Waco, TX area. I could easily just attend the convention in San Marcos, but I've really enjoyed Tulsa much more. Jeez Louise! I'll probably drive to San Marcos in September and visit the vendor fair.
I will be attending the Saturday crop. I have never been to a crop anywhere (I usually stick to myself) so this will be a new experience for me.
I know that I overdid with the classes. 12 of them plus the Saturday crop. My feet are already hurting.
I'm staying at the host hotel. I really liked it except that they charge for internet access in the rooms!! Who does *that* nowadays?

OUCH!! I didn't know they charged for internet connection. That's a bummer. I don't have a portable devise so I don't use it but wow that doesn't even seem right. You did go all out on those classes! Just think of all those great ideas you will come away with! Did you leave yourself anytime for shopping?? LOL! Well, I hope you have a safe trip and lots of fun. Hope to see you there!

I told myself not to overbook classes this year...but I didn't obey. I left plenty of time for a leisurely breakfast and shopping in the mornings. The hardest part for me is standing in a long line to get in. I've decided that there are plenty of seats left in the front, no need to try to be one of the first 20 students. (FYI: I'm hearing impaired...I have to sit near the speaker anyway. Once I tell them at the door, they have always seen to it that I sit where I can "hear.") Because of this, I'm just going to park my keister on the floor or an available chair.

Anxiously awaiting leaving tomorrow for Tulsa. I prefer Tulsa's classes over the ones offered this year in San Marcos. Just think: I'm driving 7 hours to get to Tulsa and it would only take me 1.5 hours to attend the convention in San Marcos..
Wait!! An idea!! I'll just go to both. Crisis averted.

LOL! Love your thinking! Attend both! Wish I could attend both! I try to sit near the front too as I can't hear that well either! I, however, have so far refused to get my hearing checked (much to the dismay of my family). I am getting real good at reading lips! Anyway, safe travels, sweetie! Have a great time in T Town!!!

I am so-o-o ready!! It's hard to believe it's already been over three months since I signed up for the convention, summer has flown by. I'll pack my class supplies up tomorrow evening so I'll be ready to leave early Friday morning to head for T-Town. I can't wait for the classes and the SHOPPING!!! Hope to meet some of you there!!
