I think the product guide was terrible. Complete advertising vehicle! A waste of an issue - they should have kept the top 10.

And I am not too keen on the new column with various readers answering a question....doesn't do anything for my scrapbooking.

Yes, I would love to see more LOs also, and by different artists. It's kinda funny, about four or five artists I can tell immediately who did the LO before I look at the name. I'd like more variety than that.

But I would also like to say that I am still happy with CK. I do really like the photography section by Candice, but I know some of you are already probably pros, so you find it wasted space. But again, we'll never make everyone happy all the time.

I just got Aprils issue and really like it. I also just got a trial issue of Memory Makers and have to say that I don't like that very much. I keep trying to like it, but it just doesn't do it for me. I tried it once last year and thought the same.
Now BHG I love. Now I want to subscribe to CK's digital scrapbooking. I can't get enough scrapbooking magazines.
BTW, I did not like that product issue at all.

I have not been able to put down the latest Memory Makers issue. I haven't felt that way about CK. I think that it's too many ads. Maybe its time to shake things up.

I, on the other hand, let my subscription to MM lapse because it has way too many digital LO's for my liking! JMHO, no offense to digi scrappers...

I agree the product issue was not very inspirational. And that's saying a lot for me because I actually LOVE the ads. I love seeing new products and how manufactors choose to display them. I think I spend as much time checking out the ads as I do everything else in the mag. I think the part that is missing is layouts. I can get through CK....read it pretty quickly and be okay with not picking it up again. I'm getting used to the new format but I keep wanting to see more of Elizabeth K.'s work and I'm disappointed that there are only a couple in each issue.

I too can pick out a LO by it's artist pretty quickly but I think that may have a lot to do with the quality and consistency of the designers work and that I spend too much time reading magazines.

I too am not a fan of Digital LO's, no offense, but feel that there could be a place for them in CK as long as they are not "taking over" when there seems to be so few LO's to begin with. Maybe CK could increase their reader gallery?

I can honestly say I'm not thrilled with the new mag or MB. :( Oh well... such is life.

O.K., I must admit I was a little miffed when I was banned from posting on my own thread. So, I contacted the publisher of "Creating Keepsakes" by email, and was delighted to receive this response:

Dear XXXXXX:
Thanks for your email. I wanted to let you know that we are looking into this matter. It is not our policy to ban members from the message board for giving suggestions for improving our magazine. I’m not sure why you were banned and we are just as interested in knowing why as you are.

If the web team deemed your message board posts (whether directed at CK or not) were in violation of the TOU for whatever reason, we would not have any control over their response.

I am happy to pass on any suggestions you have for improving Creating Keepsakes. We are always interested in hearing from our reader. Without you, we wouldn’t have a magazine.

Please know that we appreciate all comments/suggestions. It is important to us to create a magazine that readers want to pick up.

Thanks again for contacting us so that we can clear up this matter.

Sincerely,

Joannie McBride

My initial email:
I submitted suggestions for improvements to the magazine to "Creating Keepsakes" in a polite manner and was subsequently banned from making comments on their forum. Therefore, please informed that I will NOT be renewing my subscription. I will not support a magazine that supports this sort of censorship. I am very disappointed that this magazine would treat its readership in this manner.

Very truly yours,
