Yes the Design studio works for the little bug and the Expression. In fact, I've been reading lots of posts on the cricut mb and they say it is extra good to use on the original bug because with the DS, you can now turn, enlarge, skew, mulit-cut, etc where we couldn't before.
I just posted a thread that bargainpack.com has it for $59.99 until the end of December. But I've never shopped there, so I don't know if it is a good place to do business.
Yes, the same pens are used for both Cricuts.
