I am waaaaayyyyy over this issue, but like a good car wreck I stop and look.

I think that HOF is what it is - a marketing ploy to sell magazines, not an honest effort to reward unknowns. I don't mind but I see how others do. With that said, I think anyone who is still talking about CK needing to get with the program needs to accept that they have made their decisions. They will drag their feet because they don't see it the same way some of you do, that it should be an honest way to reward unknowns. I think anyone still thinking they will change CK needs to accept CK for what they are (a business selling magazines and ad space) and either stay or go.

What I hated about all the KC stuff was the meanness between members and KC where KC admitted it wasn't her photo. What I see here is a darn good fact finding mission over someone who still is trying to "get away with it." Anastasia, you've gathered some really good info here, probably doing the due diligence CK could have. Metadata isn't exactly forensics -- I would think CK would be capable of it too, but I am impressed. I think I would be more impressed if you used your super skills to put yourself out there professionally, but since I doubt Anastasia Beaverhausen is the name on your birth certificate, maybe you already have (next thread - guess who's AB?)

Oh man, I don't think CK would have the time or resources to check into 500 entrants who each submitted 10 layouts!! That would be 5000 investigations, and if a layout had more than one photo, you'd have t research each and every photo.
It SHOULD be up to the entrant to provide the correct information. KC didn't add her credit until after she was chosen as a winner, so even she didn't do it right to begin with.
What happened to integrity and honesty? Come on contestants! Be truthful, and let us get over this.

Yeah, but they could certainly take the time to investigate over the ones they selected as their winners and HM's. Especially since they are cutting the numbers of winners way down this year.

Really...

Postby julberg on Sat Oct 27, 2007 5:06 pm

now really... it is soo evident that the rafting picture was not taken by the scrapbooker. Anyone, especially anyone on the staff at CK, should have noticed that. Her explanation is just hilarious. I went rafting this summer and I would have had to stop before getting to the rafting company, climb over some highway railings, down an embankment, set of my equipment, LEAVE MY EQUIPMENT, spend two hours waiting for my raft to finally leave and then, by chance, get that shot. NO WAY!! Any then retrieve my equipment??? Come clean. How do people sleep when they are approached with this?

P.S. I think some of the photo rules are silly. No heritage?? Come on.

I believe they are allowing heritage photos for the 2008 HOF. Guidelines for them to be heritage are that they have to be taken more than 10 years ago...I think I saw that in the Dec 2007 issue...

I guess I 'm just not as nice as most of you ladies. Okay I'll admit I entered HOF last year. I made sure I followed the rules completely. It hurts me to know others won because they refused to follow the rules. It hurts more when I hear people say just get over it. I could admit defeat easily if it had been a fair contest. But when people (may) have won because they used pics that others took, or because they were a male, or because they knew so and so, or are of a certain age, a certain religion, or race it bothers me.
We now know without a doubt that the pic rule was broken by two people and there are more.
I am not bitter but I am hurt that some people would go so low. I like to think scrapbookers are a "good people".
I doubt that I will ever enter another contest but I would like to help make it fair for others.

Well I for one can say I am so happy that "Anastasia Beaverhaus" did all the research and can put some proof to at least one of the lies being told about this HOF contest.

Keep em' coming I say.

Dang...I just looked in the HOF mag again, and there is no way she took some of those pics herself.

And it's not just her...besides MK, there are several other questionable pics in there...

There's a pic of a woman working out on machines...that's a little questionable...also a LO with three pics on it of a mom and a baby...and a LO of someone at Whistler, B.C....just some of the questionable ones...

We need more peeps like AB...

You go, girl!

Betty -

I took a 2nd glance at the photo of the mom and the baby. However, if you closely at the LO, it's the Grandmother and her granddaughter, with the daughter doing the LO. I hope when I'm a grandmother I look young enough to be my grandchild's mom!
