I think part of this (legal issues aside) is that we all understand KC's words differently.... I don't think she's finger pointing necessarily. My take on it is that she knows people are upset with CK and says that CK should have disqualified her in order to acknowledge how upset people are about that aspect of the issue. kwim? I feel terrible for the people that did follow the rules and weren't selected but I don't think she did it in bad faith. That's my two cents.

Rude, crass, brazen, totally in love with herself...

Modest? NOT...here's a quote from the message:

"The only reason it's so blown out of proportion is b/c I tend to be a polarizing character in this industry."

Oh, really now?

Give me a break...there are way more talented scrappers out there that were passed over...and an original name on that book of hers....NOT...

Is there going to be anything said from CK now?

Not sure if my other post has been read, but I don't believe the message board is the appropriate forum for addressing this matter. It's more for entertainment than official business.

It's also entirely likely that their corporate counsel has a gag order on anyone adding any more, so it's not entirely fair to construe silence on their part as ignoring the readership.

Yes, she didn't use some of her own photos but, it wasn't her fault she got picked.

Are you freakin kidding me? You want me to feel sorry for her? If it was such a tough thing for her to be picked why did she enter the contest in the first place? Why did she accept hundreds of dollars in cash and prizes? Why is she proclaiming her "Hall of Fame" status for career gain?

And if anyone dares to call her out for not following the rules, she doesn't apologize...she calls them a lunatic. She spent an entire blog post trying to justify breaking the rules and according to her if you don't think that's okay, it's because you are jealous of her, or not as talented? You want me to feel sorry for her?

I do feel sorry for you though.

I totally disagree with the Queen, but I think your response to her is out of line. We are all entitled to have our opinions

Ok all this brings up a very important point someone else made early in this thread...Why are those ALREADY known in the scrapping world even allowed to enter the contests? Is that really fair? I don't think so. Especially if you wrote books and teach scrapping classes and are already affiliated with CK through some means.

Unlevel playing field I think.

As far as her response or "apology" it's exactly like all the one's children give when they are caught doing something they KNOW they are not supposed to do and it won't just "go away."

Sadly, it's typical and I expected as much.

I agree that we should keep the tone civil, and we should give KC a break. The result is unfortunate and unjust but people might have just made mistakes. Do we all read the small print and adhere to it all the time? Indeed, I suspect a good number of people here have not read the MB guidelines to which they'd agreed when they became members. Otherwise, we wouldn't see words like "cheater", "liar", "dishonest", "rude" and "unethical" in so many messages. If we want others to follow and enforce rules, then we need to do the same.
