This is so sad to hear. I love CK and this MB. I may not be much of a poster but for someone like me that does not have any friends, hopping on here several times a day helps fill a void!

Erin and Lisa B. - prayers for you- hope this all has a positive outcome.

It's too soon to speculate, but if they aren't paying employees or designers, it doesn't look good for refunded subs.

Obviously it is not the subscriptions that keep them afloat. Big Advertising Dollars are the key. The CKUs could be self-supporting with or without the magazine, if you really think about it.

I do believe CK is a good brand with poor management, as evidenced by the kit fiasco. Anyone have some venture capital funds or know of a good management firm --- there might be a great opportunity to pick up something with a lot of potential at a fire-sale price...

I just got caught up on all of the "ck news" today and it really saddens me. I love the mag and feel for all of those that may be losing a job and that aren't getting the money that they are owed. Hopefully it is not to late to turn things around and they can still keep things afloat. Sure sounds like they are taking on water now, but hopefully soon things will be patched up. It is certainly a wake up call for them. As a side note to Erin, I will def. read your book! Maybe a juicy tell all of the scrapbook industry.

Erin, thank you for your honesty. I really enjoyed your blog. Hopefully CK will recover, you will be doing your blog again and get paid for your work. CK should learn something from Erin's post...honesty...let us know what is going on.

OK, so I admit that I am the world's worst (or would it be best?) lurker, but I just want to step out here and tell Erin: YOU really have been the main reason I come to this blog - you are so creative, and I am always inspired by what you do, have learned so much from you ... You really are fabulous!!! Would love, love, love to see what you have been up to lately. Really interested in Hank's party "ecoutrement." Hope things work out for the best for you and your family.

Sounds like it! I can't believe you're still sticking around without pay--much as I enjoy your stuff, I'm not sure I would...prayers that it all works out for you. And yep, we'd all buy your book, esp if it came with scrappy ideas!! Best Wishes!!
