Maudie--traveling is always exciting! However, to get any kind of good response, you need to narrow down your definition of "America".... ;)
America is first, North America, South America, and Central America. Nations covered in North America are Canada, United States and Mexico....I am assuming you are talking about one of these countries. Canada and The US are each about 6,500 km across....(with good shopping in many points along the way!)
Hope your trip is terrific!

Depends on where you are coming from and what part of US you are going to. If you are coming from Europe, you should be able to enter within the Visa Waiver Program (if it still exists) or your country may require you to have a tourist visa.

Happy to help--let us know what state you'll be in or part of the country and we can help. Some "chain" stores that are located around the country include Jo Ann Fabric, Michael's Craft Store, Hobby Lobby and Archiver's.

There are lots of great scrapbook local stores too.

Of course, that's just scrapbook supplies and crafts. If you're looking for clothes, check online for "outlet malls" and the state you'll be in, that should help you find some good deals.

Have fun!!
