I have a Canon Rebel XS and I Loooooooove it . It takes awesome pictures and is Canon's entry level DSLR. We also have a Canon Power Shot and that takes great pictures as well. I think you will find that with good natural light any camera will take a good picture inside.

You didn't mention your budget or if you wanted to get an DSLR or P&S....that would make a difference as to what folks might suggest to you.

I've got 2 different types of digital cameras, the pocket kind is Minolta Dimage X1 that I got in 2004 as it came out. Awesome little camera with 8Mb images. My more advanced is Canon Rebel XTi that I got for Mother's Day last year. That is by far the best camera I've ever had and have multiple lenses for it. I photograph corals and fish quite a bit in our reef tanks and this camera really does well without flash.

All depends on your budget. There are great cameras for just about every budget.

I have the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5. It has face detection, Image stabilization, 28mm wide angle, 10x zoom, etc. It takes fantastic photos AND video. I got tired of lugging both types of cameras around and was looking for a video camera that was easier to upload to the computer for making DVDs and putting clips on Blogs. This digital still camera takes GREAT video. It's small enough to slip into a purse too. Very easy to use. Shop around. I found some great buys online.
