Using Christine Gundersen's Amy's Chinese Doodles Page Kit was the perfect way to highlight some photos I took of a sculpture in Eden Park recently. I had watch "Sunrise Earth" awhile back and was intrigued by how quiet and calm the Fishermen were early in the morning on one of China's rivers. Both man and bird worked together so seamlessly....we ran across this sculpture in a park the other day depicting this very scene! I love the red in this paper and the wonderful elements! This is an all digital layout.
Journaling: "A sculpture in Cincinnati's Eden Park commemorates the use of the Cormorant by Fishermen in both China and Japan. The birds are taught to dive into the water from their small boats and catch fish. They have a band fitted loosely around their necks which prevents the birds from swallowing the fish they catch. The Fishermen scoop them back up into the boats, the birds never leave and the Fishermen retrieve the fish they catch. It is a very calm and peaceful thing to watch, with both the Cormorant and Fisherman working together to fill their baskets."
