journaling: Sometimes when Mark and I are interacting with Austin, I feel as if Ive been dropped off in the middle of a Family Ties episode. Only, its not about idealogy really. Its mostly about precision. Mark and I are generally big picture people and Austin is all about the details. Need an example? See that music photo? The lines are the only thing mechanical about it, everything else is hand drawn. Were different. Austin uses Excel to make up his Christmas list. I sometimes have trouble reading my own handwriting on grocery lists. His homework can take hours, I can multitask with the best of them. Its not always smooth sailing but I think the differences are mutually beneficial to us all even if I do have the occasional Keaton family flashback. Could be worse. At least I never feel as if Ive been dropped into a Married with Children show.
A layout about my oldest; he was 13 when he drew these out.
