Instructor Bio:

Karen Carey is an award winning photographer nationally noted for her soulful and artistic fine art portraits of children. Her work has been acknowledged by The American Society of Media Photographers as the Best of 2006, and currently hangs as part of Women in Photography International's 2007 and 2008 juried competitions. For the past three years Karen has brought her expertise to photographers all over the country teaching both professionals and amateurs about the art and soul of photography.

With an eye for strong yet simple composition, Karen creates exceptionally moving images. These powerful portraits are intimate and honest, celebrating the joy of childhood and the blissful chaos that goes along with it. Always candid and expressive, Karen brings the same fun, passion and humor to her work that she exudes in her own spirited personality.
